A 4G proxy for e-commerce price monitoring

Track competitor prices on Amazon, Shopify stores and marketplaces through a real French mobile IP. One modem per customer, rotation between scraping cycles, 200 GB per month.

Why a mobile IP for price monitoring

E-commerce sites increasingly deploy anti-bot systems like Cloudflare, DataDome and PerimeterX to block automated access. Datacenter proxies are the first to be blocked — their IP ranges are public and well-known. Residential pools are better, but the IPs are often overused and can be flagged.

A 4G mobile proxy uses a carrier IP from a CGNAT pool. These addresses belong to real mobile subscribers, so anti-bot systems assign them the highest trust score. Blocking a mobile IP range would block millions of real shoppers — which no retailer wants to do.

Competitive intelligence that works

Price monitoring requires consistent, reliable access. A dedicated proxy gives you the same high-trust IP for every scraping session. When you need a fresh address — after a long batch or if the target site starts throttling — you rotate via API and continue within 20 seconds.

One modem per customer

Your proxy is a physical 4G modem with its own French SIM card. Nobody else uses it.

Bypasses anti-bot

Mobile carrier IPs pass Cloudflare, DataDome and PerimeterX checks that block datacenter and overused residential IPs.

API rotation

Rotate the IP with a single HTTP call. Easy to integrate into Scrapy, Python scripts or any scraping pipeline.

Consistent results

Same trusted IP every session. No lottery of random pool addresses that may or may not work.

HTTP & SOCKS5

Both protocols with username/password authentication. Compatible with every scraping framework.

200 GB per month

Price pages are small. 200 GB covers millions of product pages per month.

Best practices for price scraping

  • Pace your requests. Even with a trusted IP, hammering a site with hundreds of requests per second triggers rate limits. Space requests by a few seconds.
  • Rotate between batches. Run a batch, rotate the IP, run the next. This keeps each session short and clean.
  • Use headers that look real. Send a realistic User-Agent and Accept headers. A bare Python request with no headers is easy to flag.
  • Monitor for blocks. Check response codes. A 403 or CAPTCHA page means the site detected automation — rotate and slow down.
  • Store raw HTML. Parse prices after collection. If the site layout changes, you can re-parse without re-scraping.

Up and running in three steps

  1. Create your account

An email address is enough. Confirm it: that is where we send your credentials.

  2. Order and pay

A 4G proxy for 1 to 12 months, paid by card or with your balance.

  3. Add the proxy to your scripts

Configure the HTTP or SOCKS5 address in your scraping tool. Your modem goes live within 24 hours, often within minutes.

Frequently asked questions

Another question? Write to us at contact@shadowproxy.fr.

How often should I rotate the IP when monitoring prices?

Rotate between scraping sessions or every few hundred requests. For daily price checks on a moderate number of products, rotating once per batch is usually enough.

Is price scraping legal?

Collecting publicly available prices is generally legal in most jurisdictions, but it may violate a website's terms of service. Check local regulations and the target site's terms before scraping.

Does it work with Scrapy and Python?

Yes. Configure your HTTP or SOCKS5 proxy in Scrapy's settings, requests, httpx or any Python HTTP library that supports authenticated proxies.

How much data does price monitoring use?

It depends on the number of products and frequency, but price pages are lightweight. Monitoring a few thousand products daily typically uses under 5 GB per month.

Dedicated proxy vs. rotating pool for monitoring?

A dedicated proxy gives you a single high-trust IP that you control. For sites with aggressive anti-bot (Cloudflare, DataDome), one trusted mobile IP often outperforms a large pool of lower-trust addresses.
